I’m an ardent Firefox supporter and user. Out-and-proud about it too. I don’t understand how anyone can choose any other browser. There are many browser choices in the world. Internet Explorer has the majority of the market cornered, true, but they recently lost 11.2% of users to Firefox, Chrome and the like. The trick to having a browser that people will use and spread positive word about is never letting it become static: always improving on it, adding features and options, never letting it stagnate and never charging for it. That’s the secret to Mozilla’s success with Firefox. Mozilla reaffirmed their devotion to Firefox this week by releasing Firefox 3.5.
Firefox 3.5 was downloaded over 5 million times in the first 24 hours after it was released. I’m happy to say I was definitely in that first few hundred thousand. The download was quick, the install was quicker and when I booted it up for the first time I practically giggled with glee when I realized what had changed: speed. Firefox 3.5 is FAST. Pages load quicker, add-ons zip through commands and the browser loads quickly too. If you haven’t downloaded 3.5, get to it. It’ll make the internet your bitch.
